Laboring for the sake of the gospel, our staff and volunteers seek to come alongside families so that, together, we'll build up a generation that embraces the gospel and its scope - the never-ceasing impact of the gospel - the death and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. Paul wrote that the gospel is the power of God for salvation. Therefore, the gospel isn't something that we check at the door of conversion. We've been united with Christ in his death and resurrection so that we may die to sin, lay down our lives for others, and live a resurrected life today. The gospel is our greatest hope in this broken world.

There are three avenues through which we move students in our embrace of the never-ceasing impact of the gospel: by connecting them to God, to others, and to service. As we are connected to the Christian God, who is one in essence and who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Spirit, we will continue to embrace the impact of the gospel in our lives. Further, an embrace of the scope of the gospel cannot result in individual or community self-absorbtion, but as Christ laid down his life for others and was raised to a new life, so are we to die to sinning against one another in relationship, to lay down our lives for others, and to live like a new creation. We also seek to embrace the scope of the gospel by connecting students to serve in God's mission in the Lake Highlands community, the Dallas area, and in the world. We believe that as we embrace the scope of the gospel by connecting students to God, to others, and to service, a clear reflection of God's glory and character will be seen in us and displayed to those around us.

The vision of the SSM is to embrace the never-ceasing impact of the gospel of Jesus Christ by connecting students, parents and leaders to God, others and service for God’s glory. This vision describes what discipled students should look like after having finished the SSM. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we hope to accomplish this by 1) offering Biblical/Theological Instruction, 2) building Missional/Redemptive Initiative, 3) developing Spiritual Disciplines/Ministry Skills, and 4) growing in Redeemed Character. We hope you'll join us in our embrace of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
