Being a “Bible Church” which derives its mission and identity from biblical teaching, Scofield Church’s philosophy of ministry must involve the practical outworking of biblical teaching:
This means we are on a mission. All of our church members gather to be trained to share the gospel of the good news of salvation. Our prayer is that all of our members can and will live a gospel centered life.
This means an incarnational ministry. The Lord Jesus left heaven to declare his love for the world and to go to the cross, in order that He might redeem sinners. Therefore our philosophy is not merely to come to church, but to be taught to live out the love of God in the world.
Scofield Church is given to compassionate ministry, unceasing prayer and authentic discipleship. Following Jesus in every aspect of our life, to know Him and to make Him known is the mainspring of our community.
This means a life of faith. Success according to God’s Word is not numbers and buildings and big budgets, but authentic, obedient, growing faith. We are not satisfied by a shallow or nominal Christianity, but we want to respond to the Lord’s call to an obedient and growing faith.
This means a life of service. Jesus said that the greatest among His disciples would be those who serve others. Our pastors and staff are here to teach us and guide us, not to do for us what God calls US to do. Each believer is called to love, to care, to serve, to meet needs.
We see God’s glory. The highest value of all is that God is made to look good by what His people do and how they live. We measure everything we do by the question, is God pleased, is God glorified?
