“But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:11–12
Scofield Men’s Ministry is driven to help each man find his God-ordained purpose and serve that purpose in God honoring ways, while demonstrating the redeeming love of Christ to all. In the verses above the Apostle Paul encourages Timothy to flee from the appetites and lures of the world and instead to pursue those things which define being a “man of God: righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.”
Our desire is that in humbleness, we acknowledge our sinful nature, repent of worldly desires, and accept God’s grace and mercy offered through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Once we receive God’s saving grace we seek to resist temptation and pursue spiritual growth by yielding to the Holy Spirit. The Men’s Ministry strives to build relationships among men for edification, encouragement, and accountability.
Scofield Church is given to compassionate ministry, unceasing prayer and authentic discipleship. Following Jesus in every aspect of our life, to know Him and to make Him known is the mainspring of our community.
As Christian brothers, we will help each other lead God-honoring lives by yielding to the Holy Spirit individually and collectively.
The Scofield Men’s Monthly Breakfast is held the second Saturday of each month from 7:45 am to 9:30 am in the Family Room (unless otherwise noted). All Scofield men and guests at least 16 years old are encouraged to attend. Each meeting covers a variety of topics relevant to men’s spiritual growth and leading a godly life. Donations are welcomed and appreciated to help cover food costs.
